Trashion Show

The purpose of this Trashion show is to allow students to showcase their creativity and build self-confidence in showing their end product. It also to show to students that they can take part in protecting the environment by using the unused materials, recycled papers, boxes and plastic bags to re-purpose things for new uses, rather than simply throw them away. Those outfits do not need to be perfect. After all, it is about being creative. According to wiseGEEK.com “Trashion is a word which is used to refer to objects and garments produced from discarded, unwanted, and leftover items. Trashion encompasses everything from home décor to garments, and public interest in trashion started exploding in the late 1990s, when being environmentally ethical while staying chic started to come into style. Trashion is considered to be a form of up cycling which refers to re-purposing things for new uses, rather than simply getting rid of unwanted objects.
